Page Capture is built to keep your data yours. It runs entirely in your browser and never sends your pages, captures, or activity anywhere. This policy explains exactly what that means.
Data we collect
None. Page Capture does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It has no analytics, no trackers, and no cookies. We never see your captures or the pages you visit.
Everything happens on your device
When you click the icon, the extension scrolls the active page, captures each section, and assembles the PNG or PDF locally in your browser. The finished file is saved straight to your downloads folder. No external server is ever contacted.
Permissions and why they're needed
The extension requests the minimum permissions required to do its job:
- activeTabRead the active tab's content only when you click the icon, in order to capture it. No other tab is accessed.
- scriptingTemporarily inject the code that measures the page, hides scrollbars and fixed bars, and scrolls to capture each section.
- downloadsSave the generated PNG or PDF to your downloads folder.
- storageRemember your preferences (format, resolution, delay) locally. Nothing is transmitted.
No host permissions are requested, so the extension has no standing access to any website.
No third parties
Page Capture contains no third-party code, advertising, or data-sharing. Your information is never sold, rented, or used for any purpose beyond producing the file you asked for.
Data retention
Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to retain on our side. Your preferences live only in your browser's local storage and are removed if you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data.
Children
Page Capture is a general-purpose tool that collects no data, and is suitable for users of all ages.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
